3 Reasons to Attend This Weeks Birmingham Stallions Home Game (Number 2 Will Keep You Up at Night)

3 Reasons to Attend This Weeks Birmingham Stallions Home Game (Number 2 Will Keep You Up at Night)

1. Protective Stadium

One of the newest stadiums in the Country. Home to a jumbotron that is twice the size of the Vulcan statue, Protective has positioned itself as the new football Capital of the South, overtaking Legion Field. Completed in 2021, Protective Stadium saw its first game in Week 5 of the 2021 college football season. The UAB Blazers led by HC Bill Clark at the time vs. HC Hugh Freeze of Liberty. Liberty pulled out the victory that night but we don’t talk about that. Coaches may change but the beauty of Protective Stadium has remained consistent over the past 3 seasons of its existence. From hosting 50,000 for the Garth Brooks concert to Auburn selling out the Birmingham Bowl with 47,100 fans, Protective Stadium remains a top venue for entertainment. And get this, for around $10 you can be inside one of the newest stadiums in the Country, watching the #1 football team in the Country. Hard to beat that.

2. Scooby Wright

People throw around the word “fan favorite” but to public knowledge there are 3 people in existence with a “SharkDawg” tattoo and most likely a few that are living off the grid. What is a SharkDawg you say? Well it’s the spirit animal of linebacker Scooby Wright. In a tweet from 2022, Scooby Wright explains what being a SharkDawg is all about. “A SHARKDAWG hunts well solo but a pack of SHARKDAWGS are unbeatable as a unit.” Scooby Wright and the 2024 defense have proven this very statement true as they currently rank #1 in defensive statistics. This defense has some DAWGS. SHARKDAWGS.

3. The Talent

Rest assured the players you see on the field at Protective are elite. The Stallions have 18 players that were drafted in the NFL and a total of 35 players who have been on an NFL roster. This team is loaded and it’s not even fair. If you only remember 3 players, remember these:
Deon Cain, WR (USFL 2023 Championship game MVP, and holds record for most touchdowns in USFL Championship history with 3 TDs.)
Adrian Martinez, QB (Leads the UFL in rushing yards, Went to Nebraska and starting quarterback for the Stallions)
Ricky Person Jr., RB (Second in the UFL in scoring and can catch the ball as well.)
This is what many people are calling the strongest roster in the UFL and you’d be a fool not to take notice. Top to bottom the Stallions are full of DAWGS, SharkDawgs that is and you love to see it.

BONUS: Proximity to Your House

The Birmingham Metro area is made up of 1.1 million strong Alabamians who live closer to Protective Stadium than they realize. Taking either 280 or 65, you’ll get to Protective Stadium in no time.
